Cleantech for UK recently visited Thrift+ in Market Harborough, accompanied by Neil O’Brien MP. Thrift+ is transforming how fashion, clothing, and charity shops interact through their proprietary online marketplace for second-hand clothes. With Thrift+, customers can give their clothes a new life by choosing to earn cash payouts, redeem credits to shop for pre-loved items, or donate to a favorite charity.
Thrift+ is making a significant impact on people’s wardrobes—not only by reducing waste sent to landfills but also by reshaping how people think about unwanted clothes. The result is a rapidly growing circular ecosystem that offers unique value beyond many other second-hand marketplace platforms.
Neil O’Brien MP expressed his admiration for Thrift+ and highlighted the positive effects that a circular economy initiative of this scale has on local employment and national waste reduction.
This visit is part of Cleantech for UK’s ongoing effort to connect policymakers with innovators, showcasing the potential of UK-based cleantech to drive impactful climate action. Together, we’re building a support network to scale these solutions and solidify the UK’s position as a leader in sustainable innovation.
